Our Bedroom... and Girl's Camp!

Okay, I'm going to start with our bedroom. We finished it in the wee hours of the morning on my birthday! Hooray!! That's the one thing I really wanted! I still don't have anything on the walls yet, I'm trying to find a mirror for the wall across from our bed, and I'm still not sure what to put above our bed. I hesitate to put anything above my head that could fall and dent it in the night! Maybe a wreath of some sort? Send me any ideas if anyone has them.

So there's the final prep... and ta-da!!!! Here's the finished product! YEA!!

I have to say the colors look much better in person, the camera doesn't do the walls justice, and it makes the shades look drastically different, but you get the idea. I love it though!

Now on to girl's camp... I'm the 1st Counselor in the Young Women's in our ward, so I got to go to girl's camp for the first time since I was a Laurel. It was so much fun, we have a tiny group of girls, but it was great! We went on a hike to Minnetonka Cave in Bear Lake, yeah, 888 stairs. It was quite the hike, but very worth it!

If you look really close at this picture, you can see our girls down at the bottom of this set of stairs. I was at the top heading down, we'd already come up this set, I tell you, it was straight up and down!!

Our girls in front of our nice cabin! It was fabulous, the leaders all had beds! Nice eh?! My next project is my now craft room, the one day baby room. I hope to have it done before I start preschool up again on September 3rd! Hopefully we will have our adoption papers done by Halloween, that's the new goal!!! Let's hope there's no more hang-ups!

I love the wall color! I think a wreath would look really cute. That's what we have above our bed. How fun for you to go to girls' camp again. That feels like a whole other lifetime ago! Keep us posted on the adoption process for you. I'm really excited for you guys!

I love home renovations!! Keep up the good work! It is easier to do those things when you don't have a child that likes to lick paint. So, get your house beautiful and then get yourself a baby!! I'm praying for you!

P.S. you need to call Becca :)

You have been busy & it looks so nice! We have a pretty light weight rod iron looking wall hanging above our bed. If it fell it would probably hurt a little! :) But I love it! It would probably just slide behind our headboard! he he! The home improvement projects are just awesome. We've painted every surface of this old house of ours. Makes such a difference. Good luck with baby papers. Praying for you!!! Love ya Jen!

Love your colors! You do a good job! We have an old window above our bed. I like it because it's light-looking with the glass. But, now I'm going to be sleeping with one eye open in case it falls. Actually, it's been holding on for 9 years so I think we're good. Good to hear you teach preschool--i do too! Our classes start on Tuesday. I can hardly wait--I love it!

Hi Jenny,

You don't know me, but you left a comment on my Hope for Motherhood blog (friend of Dana Gallants?)

Anyways, I thought I'd leave a comment on your cute blog and give you my email in case you ever want to get in touch. Maybe I could ask you some questions about your decision to adopt, if that is not too personal. My husband and I teeter back and forth on what we should do.

My email is: u2lemonprincess@yahoo.com

Also, funny, in looking around your blog I noticed Cherstin (Crapo)'s blog link...I grew up with Cherstin in Kaysville...small world.

Anyways. Thanks for your comments on my blog, they are appreciated.

Best wishes with the adoption process!
